As I picked myself up and shook the slushy mud off of me and all over the lady and the inside of her open car, my fear and shock turned into excitement. It was Beast! He was just as excited and was standing on the lady licking her face. It turns out Beast knows her. She is his puppy sitter! Lucky Beast gets to be watched by the lady with the bottomless Mary Poppins purse. Was she really Mary Poppins?!

She was completely covered in mud, but happy to see Beast. Oh Dog, oh Dog! She opened up her purse and gave us some treats. Then she pulled out three large towels and a big water bottle to wipe us all off. But, ruh-roh, what happened to her phone? We all searched through the slush, and finally found it completely ruined by the mud!

Then the lady said, “Beast and Petey, you need to show me what is happening. I sense trouble, and now we can’t call for help.” Though completely exhausted we started to lead the lady back towards the ravine. As we did, she took out a flashlight and some string and scissors. She then tied bows on the tree branches so we could find our way back to the car. Wow, she’s a smart lady! Maybe if Beast’s mom becomes my mom this lady will be my puppy sitter too……..

My mind was drifting off into fantasy again, so before I knew it we were at the top of the ravine. Beast and I barked to let our owners know we were back, and the lady shined the flashlight too. They had all fallen into a deep sleep in the icy cold ravine. They all finally woke up, even my owner. Whew! no concussion after that third knock-out!

“Does anyone have a cell phone or radio?” the lady asked. Everyone started fumbling around, trying to find one that was still charged. Maybe the lady has a spare battery in that magical purse? I hope we get help soon. We were all so, so, so tired…

Tomorrow’s Chapter will be by My Mini Pet Pig. There are a couple of spots still left if you want to join in the pawesome fun!

Chapter 17:

I wiggled and giggled, but that only made the choke collar choke me. There was nothing I could do and it was getting cold sitting there in the snow. For once I wished I were a big fluffy Alaskan Malamute! Just as I was about to give up hope, I heard the officers shouting in the distance. The snow had disoriented Beast only temporarily, and he was now leading the officers and Hissie’s mom back towards the east, and to me!

I barked as loud as I could so they could find me. Oh Dog, was I glad to see them! They took the nasty collar off of me, freeing me from the tree. The smart lady officer picked me up and wrapped me in her jacket to warm me up. Once I stopped shivering, she asked me to lead us to my owner, and off I dashed!

But we were not alone! The silly human officers seemed unaware that running alongside us through the trees were the coyotes with chicken feathers all over their faces. Were they looking for another meal? I stayed close to Beast this time. He could protect me. Then the wise owl returned with two rats in its talons, and distracting them lead the coyotes off in the opposite direction. Whew! Thank you wise owl!

Back in the ravine, Beast’s mom tried to clean off the blood from Petey’s owner’s face using some tissues she had in her pocket and saliva. (Moms!) She could see that it was just a few cuts above his eye and on his chin. It was a strong manly chin with a movie star dimple in the middle. The man began to gain consciousness, and when he opened his eyes, Beast’s mom was met with the most radiant emerald green eyes she had ever seen, besides her own of course. After a few moments of mutually being mesmerized in each other’s eyes, they heard rustling and what sounded like large creatures trashing through the forest. They hugged each other close shivering in fear!

A Holiday Fairy Tale!

The_March_of_the_Toy_Cover_for_KindleSo many details

Of the magic fairy world

In Mama’s new book!

Daily Prompt: Details

Wooooowoooooooo! Just like me, my Mama is a writer, and she has written a new pawesome holiday fairy tale, The March of the Toymakers! It would make a wonderful gift or stocking stuffer for children of all ages, even grown up ones! Here are the details:

The March of the Toymakers    by Julianne Victoria, Based on the original story idea by Robert Thomas

March of the Toymakers follows the journey of Santa’s chief elf, Nissa, on his quest to save Christmas. Santa barely has enough elves to make enough toys for all the children of the world, so he sends Nissa on a mission to find the Fair Feather Maid, who will help them recruit an army of elves to become toymakers.

However, there are many challenges along the way, from solving riddles and breaking pixie spells to fighting off ogres, trolls, and goblins, all of whom wish to prevent the army of toymakers from making it back to Santa’s Village in time. If they do not make it back by Midsummer’s Eve, they will not have enough time to make all the toys that bring Christmas joys.
