Hiking the trails

Sleeping in the forest deep

Camping pups we are!

I suppose I should tell efurrybuddy that I am prepping Mama and Nalle to go on a backpacking trip. Youwoowooooo heard me right! I am an outdoorsy pup. I grew up in Alaska after all, and as you can tell from some of my bloggy posts about our adventures traveling and hiking, I wuvwuvwuvwuvwuv being on the trails. So furst I tested Mama and Nalle with the tent-den by sleeping in it in the backyard fur a night. They did furry good. Then I got Mama to do research fur a camping spot in the forest with some good trails so I could see how they would do sleeping all night in the wilds and so we could simulate backpacking with lots of hiking. They did furry, furry goods tooowoowoowooooooo! Next I needs to train Mama and Nalle to do longer and longer hikes so when we are backpacking, they can keep up with me!

Here are piccies from our furst camping trip in the Redwoods in Marin County:

The Redwoods are furry tall!

Furry beauwoowoootiful sunlight through the Redwoods!

Nalle and Me practicing hiking with our backpacks. We will carry all our supplies on the real backpacking trip, so I told Nalle we has to get used to them.

We came across this snaky on one trail.

Me and Nalle made sure to keep an eye out fur polar bears and any monsters in the woods:

But all went well and we slept soundly.

There was lots of pretty Thistle on our morning hike.

Thanks fur joining us! Mama and Nalle did furry good, huh?

And fur those who may have noticed, Facebookie discovered I had a profile. Now I am a published author, poet, blogger, calendar pin-up, and movie star, and I think it’s not fair that I can’t have a Facebookie profile. WOOO! However, I do has my Haiku By Ku page and now my Kuruk Babybear page has replaced my profile, so please stop on by and like me! Thank youwooooowoooooooo!

Merry Christmas too!

Wooowooo Efurryone! As a Christmas gift to our pawesome clicky-fingers secretary Mama, me and Sisfur Zoe at Swami Zoe’s Yoga and Zen have decided to take a bloggy break these last ten days before Christmas Eve and Yuletide celebrations!

There are just a couple things I want to share with all of you toowoowoooo! First is me and Nalle’s letter to Santa Paws:

And for those of you still looking for a pawesome Christmas gift for children ages 4 too 99+, Mama wrote a wonderful Holiday Fairy Tale called, The March of the Toymakers. It’s gotten some rave reviews toowooowoooo! Check it out:

The_March_of_the_Toy_Cover_for_KindleThe March of the Toymakers    by Julianne Victoria, Based on the original story idea by Robert Thomas

March of the Toymakers follows the journey of Santa’s chief elf, Nissa, on his quest to save Christmas. Santa barely has enough elves to make enough toys for all the children of the world, so he sends Nissa on a mission to find the Fair Feather Maid, who will help them recruit an army of elves to become toymakers.

However, there are many challenges along the way, from solving riddles and breaking pixie spells to fighting off ogres, trolls, and goblins, all of whom wish to prevent the army of toymakers from making it back to Santa’s Village in time. If they do not make it back by Midsummer’s Eve, they will not have enough time to make all the toys that bring Christmas joys.

First, I had received a couple of awards a while ago. One, Oh the Horror!, I cannot remember who gave it to me. I found the honor on their bloggy, but they did not leave me a comment here, and slacker Mama forgot to write it down. If this was you, I apologize, and please leave me a comment here so I can thank you properly.

the-opposites-attract-awardThe other award was from my beauwooowoootiful kitty girlfurriend Nylabluewooowooo! I just have to sing when I say Nylabluewooowoooo! As many of you know, she is being a very tough cookie and fiercely battling pancreatitis. Please send well-wishes and love to her. And thank you my Nylabluewoooowooooo for the Opposites Attract Award!

As you can guess, I have to nominate bloggers who are the opposite of me. I am a pup and a boy, so my nominees are:

Whew! Wait, wait, there’s more horror! Mama has forgotten to announce and thank two other pawesome bloggy furriends for writing about my book: Kuruk: The Little Bear That CouldThank youwooowoooooo to Wag’N’Woof Pets and Sand Spring Chesapeakes for mentioning and giving good barks, purrs, and wooowooooos to my book!
