Rescue-versary!

Me furry furry happy!

Rescue-versary

A wonderful day indeed

I have come so far!

Woooohooowooooooo Efurrybuddy! Today and tomorrow are furry special days fur me. You see, it was four years ago today that a pack of strange humans came to see me and my pack of nearly 170 Alaskan Malamutes at a puppy mill in Alaska. They were shocked by what they found – no food, no water, all the snow eaten that we could reach from our four-foot chains, and sadly some deceased members of my pack. The next day on 1-11-11, they came back, removed us from our chains, and took us to a shelter to help us get medical care, food, water, and hopefully real homes!

The dogters in Alaska thought I was about 2 years old based on my teeth and only weighed 35 lbs! Today I weigh about 85 lbs. (depending on how often I gets BACON! and TURKEY! WOL!). My furs are no longer brittle and dry, but super duper fluff, fluff, fluff. I have come a furry long way in the past four years, especially when it comes to being social with strange humans. Nobuddy would know now that I was “like a feral wolf” as my Mama says. It is Mama’s magical healing wuvwuvwuv that helped to heal so much!

Kuruk-_The_Little_Be_Cover_for_KindleI tell the full story of my healing journey in my bookie: Kuruk: The Little Bear That Could, One Rescue Pup’s Journey of Healing. The purpose of my book about the story of my rescue is to raise awareness about puppy mills and animal abuse.

One rescue pup’s story about his healing journey across three thousand miles, beginning with his days on a chain in a puppy mill in Alaska, across the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, into the loving arms of his Mama, and down the coast with his pack to California. A journey filled with sadness, fear, worry, and anxiety, but through it all and with the love and support of humans and other rescue pups, he knew he could do it!

You can order it through Create Space or Amazon (including eBook!) or Barnes & Noble. Also: Amazon CanadaAmazon UKAmazon India, and other international Amazon stores.

The purpose of my book about the story of my rescue is to raise awareness about puppy mills and animal abuse.

Another NaNoWoofMo Chapter!

photo 1

Me working on my chapter.

Woooooooowooooooooooo! I’m a lucky pup because I get to write another chapter fur Rocco’s NaNoWoofMo where pet bloggers collaborate (Mama had to help me with that word!) to write our furry own novel! Woooowooooo! There are still spots open. So grab your Mama or Papa by the leash and head on over to Rocco’s House here to sign up!

If you need to catch up on the story, here’s where you can find previous sections:

1) Rocco
2) Ku
3) Hailey and Zaphod
4) Bongo
5) SwamiZoe (my sisfur!)
6) Easy

7) Daisy

And here’s today’s chapter…

There were eight look-a-likes in all! Who were they and what were they all doing in the forest? Before I could bark, the alpha dog stepped right up to my nose and growled. My instinct took over and I growled back, the fiercest, deepest growl I’ve ever growled!

This frightened all of them and they cowered back a few feet. “Who are you?” the alpha dog asked.

“My name is Marvin,” I said, “and I want to live free like my ancestors! I am part Siberian Husky so I think I can figure out how to hunt and make a cozy den in the ground.”

One of the others, a cute female, spoke up, “We all are out here on our own too. We’ve formed our own pack and I’d be delighted if you joined us. My name is Bella and I’m the real Alpha, just like our ancestors had a female as the alpha of their packs. Grumpy here is my little brother. He’s only two and doesn’t know how to behave yet.” As she gave a piercing look towards Grumpy.

Oh pup, my very own pack! We decided to call ourselves the K9 Gang since there were now 9 of us. It was getting late, and we all fell fast asleep. I was in the middle of a dream about me and Bella romping through a field of wildflowers when I was shaken awake. Efurrybuddy jumped up startled, but the shaking didn’t stop. It was an EARTHQUAKE! Terrified we all scattered into the forest and when everything settled I was once again alone.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo” I howled out like my ancestors, and I waited fur a response…

Next chapter will be by Kari!

The last Blog the Change, I announced my first donation to the Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League (WAMAL). They are the pawesome people who flew me from Alaska to Seattle, where my Mama found me! Since then I have only sold a few books, and I only make maybe a couple dollars per book sale, so no new donation yet. Me and Mama are working on other ways to market my book, but if you can help us out by spreading the word – through Facebook, Twitter, or other social network – we, and all animals in need would very very much appreciate it! Guest Blogger: Most Beautiful Swami…

photo-2

Ku bestowing blogging privileges to most beautiful me!

Hello to all students, seekers, and readers out there. I am Shri Swami Sattvapurrrrrananda, but my family calls me Zoe, which means Life, which I AM. I AM also very beautiful and am referred to also as a lioness princess puppy cat. Yes, you heard that right. I was raised by a Husky, so I believe that I am part snow pup. I heard that the youngest member of our pack, little sistah Nalle, got to be a butt-in blogger, so I insisted that I should have the privilege to be a guest blogger since I am the oldest member of our pack (besides Mama of course). I will be twelve in a few weeks, but I don’t look a day older than two! I AM beautiful!

As some of you already know, I AM also the esteemed author of the book, Daily Yoga for a Happy and Healthy Cat. It is the last and only book you (humans, pups, all sentient beings, and especially felines) will ever need to read to be as enlightened, free, youthful, healthy, happy, and as beautiful as me!

photo-3

Me working hard at my yoga practice!

As you can see, I AM truly very, very beautiful! And it is very important that others tell me how beautiful I AM on a regular basis. It helps others to move past their egos to acknowledge how beautiful they, their lives, and everyone around them are, especially me because I AM.

May you all find peace and bliss within, and have a relaxing day! Me-Om!

As B.K.S. Iyengar said: If one stretches completely, one relaxes completely. Look at a cat, a master of stretching and a master of relaxation.
