Writing another chapter

Of Petey the pup

Wooohooooowoooooo! I get to write another chapter with the writing club over at Rocco’s House! This is giving me lots of confidence in my fiction writing skills! This is a pawesome pet collaborative NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) effort. Petey the pup is trying to save his owner. Will he? As I picked myself up and shook the slushy mud off of me and all over the lady and the inside of her open car, my fear and shock turned into excitement. It was Beast! He was just as excited and was standing on the lady licking her face. It turns out Beast knows her. She is his puppy sitter! Lucky Beast gets to be watched by the lady with the bottomless Mary Poppins purse. Was she really Mary Poppins?!

She was completely covered in mud, but happy to see Beast. Oh Dog, oh Dog! She opened up her purse and gave us some treats. Then she pulled out three large towels and a big water bottle to wipe us all off. But, ruh-roh, what happened to her phone? We all searched through the slush, and finally found it completely ruined by the mud!

Then the lady said, “Beast and Petey, you need to show me what is happening. I sense trouble, and now we can’t call for help.” Though completely exhausted we started to lead the lady back towards the ravine. As we did, she took out a flashlight and some string and scissors. She then tied bows on the tree branches so we could find our way back to the car. Wow, she’s a smart lady! Maybe if Beast’s mom becomes my mom this lady will be my puppy sitter too……..

My mind was drifting off into fantasy again, so before I knew it we were at the top of the ravine. Beast and I barked to let our owners know we were back, and the lady shined the flashlight too. They had all fallen into a deep sleep in the icy cold ravine. They all finally woke up, even my owner. Whew! no concussion after that third knock-out!

“Does anyone have a cell phone or radio?” the lady asked. Everyone started fumbling around, trying to find one that was still charged. Maybe the lady has a spare battery in that magical purse? I hope we get help soon. We were all so, so, so tired…
