Raccoons!

images-2

Not the actual raccoons that ate all the kitty food, ripped a hole in my food bag, and left their prints everywhere. Wooo!

I chase them away

Out the kitty door they go

Bellies full of food

Sneaking in before the dawn

It’s time to break their habit

  1. We only have one raccoon, and he is a menace. Our cat door for the catio is electronic so the three of us who can go to the yard have an electronic disc on our collars. The raccoon does not, but he still gets in by climbing the utility lines attached to the house or the screen up to the upper deck, which isn’t screened in. Then he comes downstairs to the catio to look for cat food. On a rare occasion the humans will forget to bring our food in at night. Whether he finds any food or not, he always poops on the deck. Your haiku is excellent, but please tell us that your cat door does not lead into the house. Those raccoons can be so mean! 2. Oh no, Ku! Those darn raccoons! The kitty door goes to your porch though, not the house? We used to have one that came directly in our house. We didn’t get raccoons but we got some other critters! I don’t think they came in on their own though, I think the cats brought in some friends (flying squirrels and chipmunks).

    • Oh the porch is part of the house, but far from the bedrooms. The kitty food is right there and they don’t go past it, but Mama is going to lock the kitty door for a few nights. Brofur Apollo won’t get to go out, but he will survive. πŸ™‚

  3. Raccoons can be really naughty. We would be skeered if they came in even if it was just the porch. Our Mom would probably freak out and scream her head off. They are wild animals and will become mean if they are frightened.

  4. Goodness Ku..they even come with their own masks like real robbers hahaaha ..still I think they are very cute..but I don’t have to worry about them here πŸ™‚ hugs Fozziemum

  5. Oh boy, I have heard that they can be quite troublesome, but we don’t really have any hanging out in our neighborhood. My cat bro Bert could qualify, though. We have all our food bags locked in a big dog kennel in the basement because he chews into the bags and eats the food.
